The Conference «Social Sciences and Humanities at Universities of Technology» is the concluding part of the TEACHENER international project.
The Conference is organized on 27-28 June in Gdansk (Poland) under the honorary patronage of the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology and the Rector of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
The Conference is addressed to:
- scholars (both experienced and early-career),
- employees of the higher education institutions,
- lecturers in engineering and social sciences,
- PhD students and graduates,
- public administration representatives.
The project team would like to share with the Conference participants the results of the TEACHENER project, i.e. the concepts and methods developed in order to help including issues of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) into teaching about energy at engineering studies.
Beside presenting the results of the project, the Conference will be an ideal opportunity to discuss the current position of Social Sciences and Humanities at European universities of technology, together with the necessity and best means of improving the integration of SSH issues and engineering education.
Workshop sessions of the Conference will get its participants familiar with 8 teaching courses targeted at students and teachers from universities of technology. Together with the accompanying teaching materials, the collection of teaching courses is the main deliverable developed within the scope of the TEACHENER project.
The conference also responds to strategic developments at the European level based on the integration of SSH aspects into European research projects, e.g. within the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme, and the need to properly recognise SSH in the academic community.
We look forward to welcoming you to this promising event!
